Ascribing to God the glory due his name (Psalm 96) should be the ultimate goal of every Christian’s life. Christianity is a relationship with the living God; in worship we enter into His presence to commune with Him. While all of life is part of our worship experience, there is a special place for corporate, family, and personal worhsip. Sunday morning and Sunday evening worship service times at First Christian Reformed Church of Allendale represent the culmination of our corporate life together. It is a time of celebration of God’s goodness to us, a reaffirmation of His grace in our lives, and a time to lift our needs to Him, and a special time to hear God’s True Word to us from the Bible. Sunday worship is Christ-centered worship that will consistently bring glory to God.
First Church is a member of the Christian Reformed Denomination. As such, we adhere to the Heidelberg Catechism and profess the Apostles’ Creed. Our style of worship is a blend of traditional and contemporary. All members are encouraged to use their gifts in corporate worship.
Who We Are
We would like to welcome you to the fellowship of First CRC of Allendale. Whether you have already visited us, or are just new to the community, we would like you to consider First CRC for your church home.
- We call ourselves Christian because we are followers of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus was the Son of God and that we are saved through Him.
- We are called Reformed because we grow on a branch of the church tree that emerged from the Protestant Reformation in sixteenth-century Europe.
- We are a Church because we believe God has called us together to be a people who belong to Him and live for Him.
We believe the Bible as the inspired and infallible Word of God and the only rule for faith and life. We call the Bible God’s Word, believing that, by the power of the Holy Spirit, God speaks to us through this book.
We hold in common with the Christian church around the world and throughout the ages three creeds summarizing the most important tenets of our faith: the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed.
We also recognize the following as the fundamental principles of doctrine and government the formulas of unity of the Christian Reformed Church in North America, namely: The Belgic Confession, The Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort.
