The Family Life Center is a caring ministry that shows the love of Jesus by providing a supportive residential community for young women with unplanned pregnancies during their pregnancy and after their baby is born.  Our church supports this ministry financially as well as with several volunteers helping out with services such as mentoring, childcare assistance, rides, and activities with clients.

Our church partners with Love in the Name of Christ in Allendale to provide life-empowering services to people having a difficult time in our community.  Love INC provides the connection between churches, service agencies and local individuals or families to address needs, fill gaps and help people who are struggling financially, emotionally or spiritually.  Many of our members assist in the work of Love INC by volunteering in the resale store, meeting with clients as life coaches and working on repair projects.  On Tuesday evenings Love INC hosts a Life Skills program in our church that helps clients develop skills for successful living.  you can find more information about receiving assistance, or ways in which you might be able to help by clicking the link below.

Young Life doesn’t start with a program. It starts with adults who are concerned enough about kids to go to them, on their turf and in their culture, building bridges of authentic friendship. These relationships don’t happen overnight — they take time, patience, trust and consistency.

So Young Life leaders log many hours with kids — where they are, as they are. We listen to their stories and learn what’s important to them because we genuinely care about their joys, triumphs, heartaches and setbacks.

We believe in the power of presence. Kids’ lives are dramatically impacted when caring adults come alongside them, sharing God’s love with them. Because their Young Life leader believes in them, they begin to see that their lives have great worth, meaning and purpose.

This is the first step of a lifelong journey; the choices they make today, based upon God’s love for them, will impact future decisions … careers chosen, marriages formed and families raised. All ripples from the time when a Young Life leader took time to reach out and enter their world.

High school students meet Mondays 8:00 – 9:00 pm at the Second Floor (Education Building.)

wyld life

In WyldLife, we love middle school kids! They are full of life and yet experiencing profound emotional and physical changes.

Middle school is a time when kids make important decisions about who they are and what they believe. And so WyldLife leaders — who range from spiritually mature high school and college students to moms, dads and retirees — consider it a privilege to be involved in their lives. We seek to model and express God’s love to our young friends by learning their names, hearing their stories and honoring their God-given desire for a life of fun, adventure and purpose.

Middle school students meet Thursdays 7:00pm – 8:00pm at the Second Floor (Education Building.) Info: email or call Ryan –ryanpaulwhite@gmail.com or 616-822-6136.

For the past several summers a group of 15-20 people from age 12 to 80 have shown the love of Christ in a tangible way in a week-long serve trip in June helping out people who have been devastated by natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes and tornados.  Recent trips have served in Biloxi, Mississippi, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Schoharie, New York and Henryville, Indiana, and have been coordinated with the Disaster Response Services (DRS) branch of our denominational relief agency, World Renew.

Quite a few couples and individuals from our congregation also serve for a week or more at different times throughout the year working with DRS on projects throughout North America.

Campus Ministry @ GVSU is a community of Christ followers called to: Engage college students with the life-changing love of God, disciple leaders who make disciples, and be a bridge to Jesus Christ and His church.

CM@GVSU was started in 1965- back when Grand Valley was a college, not a university! We were established as a ministry partnership between the Reformed Church in America (RCA) and the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRC). What started as one seminary student leading Bible studies for GVSU students has transformed into a fruitful ministry. We are grateful to God for his faithful and unfailing love for this campus.

We gladly welcome all students – no matter your religious background, denominational affiliation, questions about God or faith, political stances, etc. All are welcome here! Each year, we watch transformation happen as students find new life in Jesus and begin positively impacting GVSU and the world.
